One of our kids attends a local private institution that implements Trivium Education. Grammar, logic, and rhetoric are foundational principles of this model that greatly remind me of my primary education in Eastern Europe. Deeply embedded in this model is the emphasis of teaching specific subject matter during optimal brain/physical/emotional development. Without surprise, memory and the brain are a primary target, along with many other obvious objectives.
